SSR Research Tools
Simple SSR Search: This search form allows you to just enter basic name or repeat info to quickly retrieve the desired SSR. Use % as a wild card. If you are having difficulties, click on the green question-mark box. A sample search is provided to help you.
This search can be executed on every page on the site by utilizing the form in the upper right corner. Choose "SSR" from the drop-down menu, enter your search term in the field, and hit return to find the SSR you're looking for.
Mapped SSRs: (Detail)
This utility displays the map locations of the SSRs in MaizeGDB. This
table is sorted by Map and Map Coordinate.
Includes Amplicon Length and Sequence Preview columns.
You can obtain this information by chromosome (1-10, below).
Complete List of SSR Repeats:
Provides a complete list of SSR repeats available in MaizeGDB, linked
to their respective full SSR records.

Discussion of SSR Data for the General Public
An SSR, or "Single Sequence Repeat", also called a "microsatellite", is a DNA pattern of 1 - 10 nucleotides that are repeated in tandem. SSRs are commonly used as genetic markers.
For more information about SSRs and how they are used, see Vierira et al., 2016.
